It was the final minute of the school football match.
The score was tied, and the tension on the field was unbelievable. Both teams were exhausted, but neither was ready to give up.
Everyone’s hopes were resting on Dhruv.
Then, suddenly, the ball rolled perfectly toward him.
Dhruv looked at the goal. The goalkeeper was slightly out of position.
This was his chance to win the match!
He took a deep breath, ran forward, and kicked the ball with all his strength.
But the shot went just wide of the goal.
The crowd went silent.
A few seconds later, the final whistle blew.
The match was over.
Dhruv’s team had lost.

Some children immediately became angry.
“You should have scored!”
“That was such an easy chance!”
“Because of you, we lost!”
Their words hurt Dhruv deeply.
He slowly walked to the sidelines and sat down alone. He kept looking at the ground, wishing he could turn back time.
“I disappointed everyone,” he thought.
His eyes filled with tears.

Just then, the team captain noticed him sitting alone.
He walked over quietly and sat beside Dhruv.
For a moment, he said nothing.
Then he placed a hand gently on Dhruv’s shoulder and said,
“Dhruv, you didn’t lose alone… we all lost together.”
Dhruv looked up at him.
The captain continued,
“You tried your best. Sometimes we give everything we have and still miss. That doesn’t make you a failure.”
Then he smiled and said,
“And remember, one missed goal does not define a player. What matters is whether you have the courage to stand up and try again.”
Dhruv wiped his tears.
The captain stood up and offered him his hand.
“We lose together… and we win together.”
Dhruv held his hand and stood up.
One by one, the other teammates came over too.
Instead of blaming him, they put their arms around his shoulders.

For the first time that day, Dhruv smiled.
He realized something important:
A true team is not only there to celebrate when you win. A true team stands beside you when you fail.
They had lost the match, but Dhruv had learned a lesson that no trophy could teach him.
And those few words from his captain became more valuable to him than any medal or trophy.
✨ Moral:
True teammates cheer for your success, but they also stand beside you in your failures. ❤️⚽
