The Messy Water
Toby was a tiny turtle with a shiny shell who lived in a sunny forest pond. Lately, big storms had filled the water with twigs, leaves, and trash. While the large herons and loud frogs just complained and swam away, Toby looked at his small flippers. One Small Leaf
Instead of worrying about the whole messy pond, Toby focused on just one small thing. He swam to his favorite lily pad, scooped up a single soggy leaf in his mouth, and carried it to the grassy bank. Plop! He dropped it out of the water. “There,” Toby whispered happily, stretching his neck. “That is my good start for today.”

As the afternoon sun grew warm, the big frogs just took long naps, ignoring the mess. But Toby didn’t stop—he just kept swimming, scooping, carrying, and dropping. He dived to the bottom, picked up a stray piece of plastic wrap, and brought it to the shore. To the eagles flying high above, Toby looked like a tiny, slow dot, but the water around his lily pad was quietly becoming clean and bright again.
The Sparkling Spark
Suddenly, a little duckling swam by and asked, “Can I help?” Toby smiled and nodded. Soon, a shiny beetle and a busy little minnow joined in too, each carrying one tiny piece of debris to the shore. Toby hadn’t done anything magical; he had simply started with his own small effort, and now a whole team was working together. By evening, the entire pond was completely clean and catching the golden rays of the sunset.

The big herons flew back and gasped in surprise at how beautifully the water sparkled. All the animals cheered and splashed happily around Toby.
