TWO ANGELS
Once two angels disguised as monks went for a walk on the earth. One took the form of an old Mentor and the other a young monk as disciple. They both had centuries of age difference. Walking in the form of Mentor and disciple, they came to a village one evening. It was raining heavily that evening. As soon as they entered the village, they saw the luxurious bungalow of a rich man. When they reached there, they both knocked on the door. The rich man opened the door. Mentor demanded of food.
The rich man looked at both the monks from head to toe. What else can be seen except dirty clothes, muddy feet, rain-soaked body, overgrown hair and beard? He thought for the moment that he should get rid of these two, but what if the monks get annoyed? Frightened, he agreed to let them in. As it was almost night the good that had left over served to the two monks. He was worried that the two mud-drenched saint would ruin the grand rooms of his house. Wondering whether the monk had a bed or a basement bed, he gave the two monks a linen sack bed in a dark room on the ground floor of the house and to cover their body to save their selves from cold gave linen made of cover. The two monks laid without saying anything. They must have been tired from the rotation of the whole day, so they fell in sleep.
After a while, disciple’s eyes opened when he heard something knocking. When he wakes up, he finds sand, lime, stone, etc. in the room and finds a large gap in the foundation of the house. He was very surprised. The Mentor was repairing the house of the rich man who had almost disrespected them. instead of cursing him, Mentor was blessing him by repairing the house. In an instant, Mentor strengthened the foundation wall so that nothing would happen for years. When the Mentor has finished the work and laying disciple couldn’t stop himself and expressed his displeasure about this.
In response Mentor only said
“Son! not everything we see and believe is same as it seems. Mentor’s words were not understood, but he became silent, believing that there must be some essence in it. As soon as the morning dawned, both of them thanked the rich man and left. Even on that day, after a long day, they arrived at a poor man’s hut in the evening. An elderly couple lived in the hut. the old couple make a living by selling the milk of a buffalo they had. There were no children. Both of them were overjoyed to see the monks waiting in their yard. He insisted that the monks be seated on their broken beds and then wash their feet. Then a meal of bread, buffalo milk and chili sauce was served. At his insistence, he served meal to both the monks. The meal was simple, but the reception of old couple was so wonderful that Mentor- disciple found the meal sweeter than the rich man’s various food that was left over.
The night fell. The hut was so small that it could only accommodate two men, while on the other side was a buffalo tent. as it was raining so they couldn’t sleep outside. The old couple put both the monks to sleep in the hut and they themselves slept next to the buffalo in tent.
Early in the morning, disciple’s sleep was disturbed by the sound of someone’s crying. He saw that Mentor was sitting with a peaceful mind and the sound of an old couple crying was coming from outside. When he went outside, he saw that the buffalo, the only source of livelihood for the elderly couple, had died. For the elderly couple, the buffalo was like a lifeline. Even words of consolation the disciple did not find. He did not understand what to say so, he said nothing. Tears rolled up in his eyes. They started to move on to their way to leave the lamenting older pair.
Mentor was walking quietly, but disciple did not stay. His outburst, which had been suppressed for two nights, came out. He said, “Mentor, now it is beyond the limit. You are very powerful and miraculous. So why You have done well the wall of that greedy rich man whose house has in well condition. He didn’t even save us properly. In fact Let’s just say that he made us angry. Yet you helped him, while this elderly couple, we were really saved and respected just like the guest. The elderly couple had a buffalo. His buffalo died despite your presence, yet you remained silent. Didn’t you feel sorry for him? ”
Look my son! Not everything we see and believe is same as it seems. ”Saying so very quietly, Mentor just started walking in his own tune. But today the disciple was not ready to believe a single thing. Seeing his disagreement , Mentor stood up. Thought something looking in front of the sky. Then he said, “If! You want to know So listen! At the base of the rich man’s house, his father hid thousands of jewels and gold coins. The limestone in the foundation wall also fell from the same place where it was hidden. If I had not repaired the gap, the treasure would have been seized by this greedy man and now the man is no longer worthy of the treasure. So for years I kept the gold in the wall in such a way that no one could get hold of it and repaired it in such a way that there would never be a gap in the place! ”
disciple was surprised to hear Mentor’s words. His mind was somewhat reconciled, but he did not leave without asking about the elderly couple. He said, then Mentor, explain me if there is any secret behind the death of buffalo of that old couple had.
With a sarcastic laugh, Mentor said, “Son! While you were sleeping last night, the angel of death came to take old mother’s life. What happens to the old father if the former leaves at this age? his life after death of his wife will becomes desolate. So I persuaded Angel of death to take the life of his buffalo instead of the old mother. By God’s command, he accepted it. So the buffalo died and she survived .
The young monk is looking at Mentor with awe. Suddenly he asked. But Mentor! what will eat Both of them old couple now? The buffalo was lifeline to them. Now how will these two old run the house?
I have filled some jewels and gold coins under our rug. By the command of God, I took those gold coins from the treasures of that greedy rich man only for these people. Now both of them are even more luxurious than before and will be able to live life. Mentor said with the same sarcastic laugh. Then he looked up at the sky and said, ‘It doesn’t always look like we do and believe it! disciple’s mind was completely reconciled. The two started walking in their own tune.
In the same way, we expect anything to happen but if it doesn’t happen we are blaming God. Instead we should trust in God from the heart then we will realize that God is arranging everything for our benefit, but we do not know that at that time. So it is important to remember that is is not everything we see and believe is same as it seems.
दो फरिश्ते
एक बार दो स्वर्गदूत भिक्षुओं के रूप में प्रच्छन्न होकर पृथ्वी पर टहलने गए। एक ने पुराने गुरु का रूप धारण किया और दूसरे ने शिष्य के रूप में युवा साधु का। उन दोनों में सदियों का अंतर था। गुरु और शिष्य के रूप में चलते हुए, वे एक शाम एक गाँव में आए। उस शाम भारी बारिश हो रही थी। गाँव में घुसते ही उन्होंने एक अमीर आदमी का आलीशान बंगला देखा। जब वे वहाँ पहुँचे, तो दोनों ने दरवाजा खटखटाया। अमीर आदमी ने दरवाजा खोला। गुरु ने भोजन की मांग की।
अमीर आदमी ने दोनों भिक्षुओं को सिर से पैर तक देखा। गंदे कपड़े, गंदे पैर, बारिश से लथपथ शरीर, ऊंचे बालों और दाढ़ी के अलावा और क्या देखा जा सकता है? उसने इस क्षण के लिए सोचा कि उसे इन दोनों से छुटकारा मिल जाना चाहिए, लेकिन अगर भिक्षु नाराज हो जाएं तो क्या होगा? भयभीत, वह उन्हें अंदर लाने के लिए सहमत हो गया। लगभग रात हो गई थी इसलिए उसके घर पर मालिक के लिए बनाए गए पकवानमें से जो बचा हुआ था वह दो भिक्षुओं को परोसा गया था। वह चिंतित था कि दो मिट्टी से सने हुए संत उसके घर के भव्य कमरे को बर्बाद कर देंगे। यह सोचते हुए कि क्या भिक्षुओ को बिस्तर दिया जाए लेकिन खराब होने के डर से उसने दो भिक्षुओं को घर के भूतल पर एक अंधेरे कमरे में एक शण का बोरा बिस्तर की जगह दिया और अपने शरीर को ठंड से बचाने के लिए भी शण का कपड़ा दिया। बिना कुछ बोले दोनों भिक्षुओं वहाँ सो गए। वे पूरे दिन के परिभ्रमण से थक गए होंगे, इसलिए वे नींद में पड़ गए।
थोड़ी देर बाद, जब उसने कुछ खटखटाया तो शिष्य की आँखें खुल गईं। जब वह उठता है, तो वह कमरे में रेत, चूना, पत्थर आदि पाता है और घर की नींव में एक बड़ा अंतर पाता है। वह बहुत हैरान हुआ। गुरु उस अमीर आदमी के घर की मरम्मत कर रहे थे, जिन्होंने उनका लगभग अनादर किया था। उसे शाप देने के बजाय, गुरु घर की मरम्मत करके उसे आशीर्वाद दे रहे थे। एक पल में, गुरु ने नींव की दीवार को मजबूत किया ताकि कुछ सालों तक उसे कुछ न हो। जब गुरु ने काम पूरा कर के अपनी जगह लेट गए तो शिष्य खुद को रोक नहीं पाए और इस बारे में अपनी नाराजगी व्यक्त की।
जवाब में गुरु ने यही कहा
“बेटा! हम जो कुछ भी देखते हैं और जिस पर विश्वास करते हैं, वह वैसा ही हो ये जरूरी नहीं है। शिष्यसे गुरु के शब्दों को समझा नहीं गया था, लेकिन वह चुप हो गया, यह विश्वास करते हुए कि इसमें कुछ सार होना चाहिए। जैसे ही सुबह हुई, दोनों ने उस अमीर व्यक्ति को धन्यवाद दिया और वहां से चले गए। उस दिन भी, एक लंबे दिन के बाद, वे शाम को एक गरीब आदमी की कुटिया में पहुंचे। झोपड़ी में एक बुजुर्ग दंपति रहते थे। बूढ़े दंपति अपने पास मौजूद भैंस का दूध बेचकर जीवन व्यतीत कर रहे थे। उनके कोई बच्चे नहीं थे। अपने घरके सामने में भिक्षुओं को इंतजार करते देख दोनों को बहुत अच्छा लगा। उन्होंने जोर देकर भिक्षुओं को उनके टूटे हुए बेड पर बैठाया और फिर उनके पैर धोए । फिर रोटी, भैंस का दूध और मिर्चकी चटनी का भोजन परोसा गया। उनके आग्रह पर, दोनो भिक्षुओं को पेट भर भोजन परोसा। भोजन सरल था, लेकिन वृद्ध पति-पत्नीका स्वागत इतना अदभुत था कि गुरु-शिष्य ने अमीर आदमी के विभिन्न भोजन की तुलना में इस भोजन को मीठा पाया।
रात हो गई। झोपड़ी इतनी छोटी थी कि इसमें केवल दो आदमी रह सकते थे, जबकि दूसरी तरफ भैंस के लिए बनाया एक तम्बू था। चूंकि बारिश हो रही थी, इसलिए वे बाहर सो नहीं सकते थे। बूढ़े पति-पत्नी ने दोनों भिक्षुओं को झोपड़े में सोने लिए दिया और वे खुद तम्बू में भैंस के बगल में सो गए।
सुबह-सुबह किसी के रोने की आवाज सुनकर शिष्य की नींद में खलल पड़ गया। उसने देखा कि गुरु शांत मन से बैठे थे और एक पुराने जोड़े के रोने की आवाज बाहर से आ रही थी। जब वह बाहर गया, तो उसने देखा कि बुजुर्ग दंपति की आजीविका का एकमात्र स्रोत भैंस मर गई थी। बुजुर्ग दंपति के लिए,वह भैंस एक जीवन रेखा की तरह थी। शिष्य को सांत्वना के शब्द भी नहीं मिले। उसकी समझ में नहीं आ रहा था कि वह क्या कहे, उसने कुछ नहीं कहा। उसकी आँखों में आँसू छलक आए। विलाप कर रहे वृद्ध दंपति को छोड़ के उन्होंने अपने रास्ते पर जाना शुरू कर दिया।
गुरु चुपचाप चल रहे थे, लेकिन शिष्य चुप नहीं रह शका । उसका प्रकोप, जो दो रातों से दबा हुआ था, बाहर आया। उसने कहा, “गुरुजी, अब यह सीमा से परे है। आप बहुत शक्तिशाली और चमत्कारी हैं। इसलिए आपने उस लालची अमीर आदमी की दीवार अच्छी तरह से बनायी है, जिसके घर की हालत ठीक पहलेसे ही ठीक थी। उसने हमें ठीक से बचाया भी नहीं था।” या फिर दूसरे शब्दोंमें कहूँ तो उसने हमें गुस्सा दिलाया था फिर भी आपने उसकी मदद की, जबकि इस बुजुर्ग दंपतिने हमें मेहमान की तरह रखा , वहाँ हम वास्तवमें सम्मानित थे। उस बुजुर्ग दंपत्ति की एक ही भैंस थी। आपकी उपस्थिति के बावजूद उनकी भैंस मर गई, फिर भी आप चुप रहे। क्या आपको उसके लिए खेद नहीं हुआ? “
देखो मेरे बेटे! सब कुछ जो हम देखते है और मानते हैं वास्तवमें वह कि वैसा ही है ये जरूरीनहीं। “इतना कहकर चुपचाप, गुरु बस अपनी ही धुन में चलने लगे। लेकिन आज शिष्य एक भी बात मानने को तैयार नहीं था। उनकी असहमति देखकर गुरु उठ खड़े हुए। आसमान के सामने देख कुछ सोचा। फिर उसने कहा, “अगर! तुम जानना चाहते हो तो सुनो! अमीर आदमी के घर के तैखानेमें उसके पिता ने हजारों गहने और सोने के सिक्के छिपाए थे। नींव की दीवार में चूना पत्थर भी उसी जगह से गिर गया था जहां यह छिपा हुआ था। यदि मैंने उसकी मरम्मत नहीं की होती, तो खजाना इस लालची आदमी द्वारा जब्त कर लिया गया होता और अब वह आदमी खजाने के लायक नहीं रहा था। इसलिए सालों तक मैंने दीवार में सोने को इस तरह रखा कि कोई पकड़ न सके और उसकी मरम्मत इस तरह से की कि जगह में कभी गैप न रहे। “
गुरु के वचन सुनकर शिष्य आश्चर्यचकित रह गया। उनका मन यह सुनकर कुछ सुलझा , लेकिन उससे बुजुर्ग दंपति के बारे में पूछे बिना नहीं रहा गया। उसने कहा, फिर गुरुजी, मुझे समझाएं कि क्या उस बूढ़े दंपतिकी भैंस की मौत के पीछे कोई रहस्य है।
व्यंग्यात्मक हंसी के साथ, गुरु ने कहा, “बेटा! जब आप कल रात सो रहे थे, यमराज बूढ़ी माँ की जान लेने के लिए आई थी। यदि इस उम्र में उनकी मृत्यु हो जाए तो बूढ़े पति का क्या होगा? पत्नी की मृत्यु के बाद उसका जीवन उजाड़ हो जाएगा। इसलिए मैंने बूढ़ी मां की जगह उसकी भैंस की जान लेने के लिए यमराजको राजी कर लिया। भगवान की आज्ञा से, उन्होंने इसे स्वीकार कर लिया। जिससे भैंस मर गई और वह बच गई।
युवा भिक्षु विस्मय से गुरु को देख रहा है। अचानक उसने पूछा। लेकिन गुरुदेव! अब दोनों बूढ़े दंपति क्या खाएंगे? भैंस उनके लिए जीवन रेखा थी। अब ये दोनों वृद्ध घर कैसे चलाएंगे?
मैंने हमारे बिस्तर की चद्दर के नीचे कुछ सोने के सिक्के रख दिये हैं। भगवान की आज्ञा से, मैंने उन लोगों के लिए उस लालची अमीर आदमी के खजाने से उन सोने के सिक्कों को ले लिया। अब वे दोनों पहले से भी अधिक शानदार जीवन जीने में सक्षम होंगे। गुरु ने उसी व्यंग्यात्मक हंसी के साथ कहा। फिर उसने आकाश की ओर देखा और कहा, सब कुछ जो हम देखते है और मानते हैं वास्तवमें वह कि वैसा ही है ये जरूरीनहीं। दोनों अपनी-अपनी धुन में चलने लगे।
उसी तरह, हम कुछ भी होने की उम्मीद करते हैं लेकिन अगर ऐसा नहीं होता है तो हम भगवान को दोष देते हैं। इसके बजाय हमें दिल से ईश्वर पर भरोसा करना चाहिए, तब हमें महसूस होगा कि ईश्वर हमारे लाभ के लिए सब कुछ कर रहा है, लेकिन हम उस समय यह नहीं जानते हैं। इसलिए यह याद रखना महत्वपूर्ण है कि सब कुछ जो हम देखते है और मानते हैं वास्तवमें वह वैसा ही है ये जरूरी नहीं ।
